ParticipantHi
This fridge freezer is driving me mad! It works fine for a few weeks and then starts switching itself off and on. I have replaced the main pcb and it worked fine for a while but has started switching off and on again. If I leave it to defrost for a few days it works fine but starts switching off again after about a week. When it is working I have noticed that on closing the fridge door a fan/pump powers up but when it is playing up this fan/pump does not power up once the fridge door is shut.
Any ideas?June 26, 2007 at 6:23 pm #218528admin

Hi
Have you checked that the door is actually making good contact with the light switch correctly ?.
This advise will have saved you the cost of the pcb as if the door has dropped this will cause the fan not to operate correctly and will make the appliance run incorrectly .Bryan

Hi
Well put washers under door and checked contact being made between door and switch. Everything seemed ok for a couple of days but now we are back to beeping and turning off and on!!!!
Door still making good contact
HELP!!! It’s driving me mad.
Are there any diagnostic tests I can perform to check out all the sensors etc.?
ThanksJuly 1, 2007 at 10:55 am #218532admin

Hi Phil
if this has not cured the fault then its possible that there is another fault within the appliance.
Youve stated that service is non excistant ?. Where about in the country are you ?have you contacted Samsung to find your local autherized engineer ?

Hi when I spoke to samsung and they found it was 5 years old they did not want to know. I’m in Coventry but am wondering whether I should just write this fridge freezer off and buy a new one.
From browsing the forum there seem to be an awful lot of Samsung fridge freezers going wrong.July 4, 2007 at 10:13 pm #218534stoneco8

It could be a problem with the thermal fuse or heaters for the problem to return after a week or so.
if you can check ur thermal fuse for continuity and heaters for a reading of 200-300 then see what happens from there.
