ParticipantWhen this old machine gets to the rinse stage of the 40 degree wash its starts to fill for a bit then the pump kicks in and it just keeps filling and pumping. If i disconect the pump it fills to the level and seems to carry on as normal. I cant work out if its the timer or the pressure switch
anyone? please!

is that the one with overfill protection? does it seem to fill a bit too much? may have the normal wash level not switching so going onto overfill, would have thought it would do it on first fill too though?

Subs 😕Sorry for the double post, gremlins 😕 What level is the water getting to before the pump kicks in? and have you checked the pressure switch?

The water does’nt get very high at all, just about normal wash level then the pump kicks in. I checked the pressure switch by blowing and getting two clicks which held until i released the pressure. Would there be a third click for overfill protection? It does seem like the overfill could be kicking in but not at that low level of water, plus surely the inlet would then shut off and it would do it on the first fill too wouldn’t it? (

IIRC, the cold valve and the pump share opposite sides of a bi-pole switch in the timer – it’ll have carbonised and be pulsing the pump, so timer it is. Probably.
