ParticipantThe manual says to check the tap, and the aquastop (filter) which I have done.
I tipped the machine backwards, caught a little water, reconnected the hoses and it worked for 2 wash cycles of the machine, now it is giving Code F again.
Reading other posts, is this likely to be a clogged matrix hose or is it something else ?Thanks
Stu

Well, you’ve got a leak from somewhere……… Model number please! It’s engraved in the top edge of the door inner, starts with “S”.

Thanks Penguin45. The model is just about readable, and is SGS6302GB/12
When you say “there is a leak somewhere”, am I right to assume I would see this somewhere ? The code F happens from power on, but obviously does not even start the cycle.

Hi
Usual leaking suspects –
1/ Fill hose collar loose at machine end, causing water to weep into base.
2/ Fill valve manifold seam weping (internal)
3/ Recirculation pump rubber sealing (internal)
4/ O rings on heater manifold to sump (internal)Hope that helps

Thanks for the pointers. Upon removing the left hand cover, I could see that the top of the matrix was REALLY gunged up and black on the outlet route. I removed and cleaned – looks like new now. Still Code F, but the big long red “float” switch at the bottom of the unit was stopping water in, understandably as there was water at the bottom. Tipping the unit ever so slightly allowed in the inlet to flow, and it actually went on for a full cycle with no problems.
Now….would a clogged matrix cause an overflow and hence a collection of water at the bottom ?…or have I *really* got a leak somewhere else. To get to all of the other units I would have to strip it down some more…but wondering if I would actually find anything ?
Thoughts ?June 28, 2007 at 8:02 pm #218596Penguin45

Clogged pressure chamber and hose to sump can cause water to back up and overflow the chamber.
