Hello,
I have a Kelvinator KIF26CMED1 fridge-freezer, mfd. 03/1989. Both fridge and freezer sections are not as cold as they ought to be, as of last couple of weeks. Although it’s pretty old, I’d rather fix it than chuck it away, both from environmental concerns and the fact that a decent replacement looks to be about £ 1,000.
Have tried using the Repairs@ system to locate someone to repair it, but the suggested firms were either unable to fix it, or gave no response at all. Best offer I had was to come and take a look, but I would be liable for a callout charge even if they couldn’t fix. I’m willing to pay something for someone to come and give an opinion, but the full charge seemed excessive for possibly no work at all.
Should I just give up and replace it ? I’d welcome your advice.
Thanks
