This being the second time over the years that I have replaced the heating element on this washing machine, the part UKWhitegoods matches exactly in every respect… but the rubber fit is too loose to hold it in place, it fits snugly but can be easily removed by hand, is there a sealing agent, gasket type adhesive that I can use to rectify this problem?

Is it the 263726 element we are talking about here or a ‘pattern’ equivalent? The former should fit with no problem whatsoever provided you tighten (but not overtighten) the compression gasket. 😉
The latter may be a problem and gluing is not the answer I’m afraid. 🙁
The maker is Masterpart, (came from this site actually) identity part number from them is BS34107, no reference to the number you have detailed above?
I followed the ‘I need a spare part, this is what I want, this is the machine’, all the connections are fine… it just the fit 🙁
Ooh lal lal! feeling stupid moment.
Having looked at the design of the component, I hadn’t realised that doing up the nut, compresses the rubber, changing it’s profile, ensuring tight fit…My apologies, gonna try that when I get back from the pub, thanks.
