ParticipantHi, I’m hoping to buy a second hand compact dishwasher to save a bit of money over buying a new one. I was thinking about a bosch skt50/510 or similar because of the reputation for reliabilty. I’ve been keeping an eye on ads and saw one go for over £70. Is this a fair price do you think?
Also do you know of a proline tabletop machine that is A+ energy and A wash rated? I’m afraid I don’t know the model number and am assuming it is a discontinued machine as I can’t find it on the web. (Only the C rated PDW041).
If you can offer any advice on what would be a good buy, that would be a great help. I was hoping to spend about £60 but I suppose going up to £75 would be possible.
Thanks

As far as i know, i’ve not seen any dishwasher with a A+ energy rating, only washers and fridges.

Hi
Proline is exclusive to Comet and tends to be budget priced appliances. An energy rating C would be about right for a Proline dishwasher. The Bosch you are considering is a much better proposition. Retail price for a new one would be £279 😉

A question for the moderators:
Would it be ok to start a thread asking if anybody has a bosch compact that they are thinking of selling on? If so, would this be the best folder to start it in?

Well, seeing as no one else seems to be answering here goes, given the fact that the number of second hand Bosch compact dishwashers that becone available ‘second hand’ would be very low indeed, I would venture to say that any thread such as you propose would get little or no response whatsoever.
The vast number of people who visit this site are looking for a fix, not a sale.
Keep your eyes peeled on Ebay would be my advice.

Thanks for the advice all. I managed to secure a used bosch from ebay for £80.
I have a couple of queries to do with connecting it up.
Currently I have a washing machine fitted under the sink with waste pipe&jubilee clip and hot and cold water supply connectors from the main pipes. So there are no possible tap/outlet things for the dishwasher pipes.
Can I get some parts which would give extra connection spaces for the dishwasher? (Although the waste pipe might be ok over the sink). Would you be able to give me the exact names of the parts so I know what I am looking for?
cheers

Hi
You can “twin” the cold using a Y piece affair.
These are available from most appliance or DIY stores.
