ParticipantThe dishwasher seems to be getting stuck on the initial phase of the cycle. From what I can hear, it’s pumping out, and at the same time letting a bit of water in (the inlet valve opens). It nearly always seems to happen if I use the pre-rinse cycle, but also sometimes on the wash programmes too.
It ISN’T the anti-flood kicking in – I’ve checked and the bottom plate is bone dry, the float isn’t stuck, and the microswitch is working fine.
Anyone got any other ideas what this could be?
Thanks a million,
Paul.

Participantis the dishwasher a plastic tub model or a metal tub model?

By tub do you mean the casing? If so it’s metal.
But there’s a plastic thing on the left hand side which is like a bit a water maze, with little cascades, moulded tubes, and a float switch about 1/3 of the way up.

Hi
Lets start with the usual suspect –
Remove L/H panel and locate the fat “S” shaped hose that runs from the water matrix to the sump.
Remove it and clean/rod thoroughly. Re-assemble and test, let us know how you get on 😀G

Hi Gegsy, thanks for that (and sorry for the delay in replying).
Tried that – the hose was actually not too bad (a few horrible smelly bits, but nothing that would have blocked the tube).
One thing I have just noticed – the machine is taking a very long time to fill – the water entering the top of the matrix is just a trickle.
I wonder if that’s part of the problem, and whether it’s the inlet valve that’s decided it’s had enough? I guess the downside is that being an AquaStop machine, replacing the value will probably be expensive.
Hmmm…
Thanks again,
P.

Hi
Remove aquastop head unit and remove gauze filter and see if uits made up.
If thats all clear then its possibly either low water pressure feeding appliance or the aquastop isn’t opening fully and will need replacing.Greg

Do you have the dishwasher plumbed in on the COLD water main or on the HOT ? – If it’s on the HOT then you need to get it changed to COLD – This will also cause what you are seeing.

Thanks again for your help.
I checked the inlet filters and they are fine. Also checked the water pressure and it’s good.
I pulled the aquastop head apart, and it seemed like the valve assembly is a sealed unit, filled with epoxy or similar, so I couldn’t dismantle it any further without completely wrecking it.
Oh, and I can confirm that it’s plumbed to a cold feed.
I think it’s going to be a case of goodbye Mr Bosch, hello Mr Miele.
