Bosch F/F cools once but compressor won’t restart.

Bosch KGV2604 F/F with ‘electronic control’.

Turn it on, it works fine until fridge temp reaches 4C and freezer reaches -18C, then the compressor stops and doesn’t start again. It will only restart if you wait until the fridge compartment temp is above 12C _and_ you cycle the power. This behaviour is quite consistent, and clearly not very useful. There is even a solution hinted at there which involves cutting a wire. I PMed the posted back in April but have had no response so am now asking if anyone else has the magic details on what is going on and how to fix it?

I could probably work this out eventually by working out what the circuit board does but that will take hours (days, or weeks in fact given the slow rate of change of temp) and I’m hoping someone here can save me a load of time.
