I was asked by a friend to look at there tumble dryer for them, the fault being that it was not heating at all. So for my sins I said I would have a look.
I looked at the heating element 1st of all and could see some degradation of the element, but the heater did meter out ok @ 80 ohms I believe from memory.
The two thermostats were short circuit as expected, so no need to change those.
I decided to change the heating element as I thought it may be causing the problem. Whilst the element was on order my friend decided to try the tumble dryer and it worked for a couple of days ok. It then failed to heat again.
I changed the heating element and the tumble dryer still refuses to heat at all. I have metered out the new element and once again checked the thermostats all are ok.
I am now at a bit of a loss as to what the problem may be. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh btw the drying light does not come on at all.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions.
