ParticipantHi all
ModelA1636.
Customer said came back to machine on a couple of accasions to find water on the floor and said it seemed to have come from the drawer. Ive checked everything, no leaks blockages etc. What i have found is that the machine has two spin programmes, (normal and light). On the light spin it starts draining the water, while rotating the drum before slowly ramping up to spin (which i consider correct) But on the other spin programme as soon as it starts, the drum whips straight up to quite a fast spin (maybe 400-500 rpm and the pump does not kick in for about 30 seconds so all the water is being whipped about, although none came out the drawer, with a full wash load i imagine it might do. Is this possibly a board fault. Thanks

Nope thats what they do usualy its a choked sump, or a blockage in drain hoor hose.

if its intermittant it may well be one of those ‘colour catchers’ floating around between the 2 drums!, sometimes sitting over pump & others not

But i had the waste hose off the trap and into a bucket and the water was coming out thick and fast once the pump kicked in, on every time i tried it.Surely the only difference between a light spin and normal spin should be the speed and duration. 😕

no, the whole prog is different, to take care of delicates on a slow spin, however, back to the colour catchers, i went to a machine 3 times b4 i found it the first time, would pump/spin fine, then few days later flood on a spin again, they can stay in sheet form and float around between the drums, even stick to the outside of the inner drum so you cant see it, but can also float down over the drain outlet to cause the spin flood then move away the next time

I’ve been fooled by this one too but it was indeed a partial and intermittent blockage as suggested by the lads above.
I’d trust them anyway , they probably see this often enough on this make as it kicks into a slightly fast spin at an unusual moment and if there’s not enough water pumped out by that time then it’ll be forced back out the soap drawer.
I agree , very careful inspection of drainage system required.
