ParticipantModel R4381x1GB, S/No 8406200062,
customer complaining about water tank light on, and wont start. the water tank is empty, but she keeps getting the light on. went out last week, switched it on worked ok, no light on.
obviously while i was there, stripped panels off m/c and inspected etc. could not find any fault.. looks like all the functions are on the board/PCB.
the m/c has come back in again, any ideas of what the fault could be.
thanks TELL..July 4, 2007 at 9:54 pm #219854gegsy

Hi
I would again remove r/h panel remove and clean uplift pump assembly inc impeller, making sure that uplift hose to top of bottle filter is clear also.
Basically the water isn’t being uplifted causing the water to rise in uplift pump chamber thus activating float unit.Greg

thanks greg, it did seem to be clear, but will double check.

KeymasterRemove water tank. When you start any program: machine starts with water uplift… before any error alarms to show.
When you check what Greg said you can take one supply cable and apply voltage directly to pump. In this time you can pour some water into water tank drawer and see if your pump is working OK. (check there also float microswitch electrical and mechanical) Machine in this case OFF.July 5, 2007 at 4:53 pm #219857Kentish

Could also be a fluff build up in the hose-tank elbow blocking the hose. Seen that plenty of times.

been out to it again, and found the pump not working, power down to it, pipes are clear, But the next question is how do you get it out, it looks as if the retaining coller on the motor has to come off?.

Microswitch on float, metering it can be innconclusive, they can also go the other way where they won’t work, the machine fills the tank then the base and ends up spraying water on the heater tripping the supply
Get damp and crap in them, play up intermitantly.
Sometimes a good idea to strip the machine, remove the motor, condenser etc and get yer hands in and scrape out all the crap.
Have a look under the pump too as this often gets fluff restricting flow, pumps rarely fail.
