mine was 4 yrs old and it stopped.i was made aware of the 6 yr warranty and read up abt it last nite.rang consumer direct this morning and it aint gonna get me nowhere cos i have to take things up with the retailer and Powerhouse is no more-only ever bought the one thing from them.has anybody any suggestions? did ring indesit (9am and just now) but their systems are still down.cheers

Hi echo,
You won’t get anywhere with the six year thing, it’s a big myth in many ways. People assume that it means that the good should not fail within the six year period and that, should they do so, that there is some sort of right of recourse to have it replaced or repaired and this is simply not true.
My understanding is that were there a breach of the contract of sale or the good misrepresented then you have a claim against the retailer but not for any faults that develop through wear and tear. It is NOT a guarantee of durability.
So, even if Powerhouse did still exist you’d likely have gotten nowhere.
To evaluate whether it’s worth doing anything in respect to the fault, we’d need a lot more information to help.
