Today UK Whitegood’s new domain names will be live securing the domain name around the world.
The new names that UKW can be reached with are:
www.ukwhitegoods.com
www.ukwhitegoods.org
www.ukwhitegoods.org.uk
This has been done in order to secure the UK Whitegoods name around the world on many different levels including the prestigious “.com” domain.
This should help with search engine optimisation as well, but presents no visible changes to anyone already using the site as any of the domain extensions will lead to the only UKW site.
It does however make it a lot easier to remember for people as it is easier to remember ukwhitegoods.com than with the .co.uk extension.
Due to a security feature, should you wish to use the different domain name extensions you will have to sign-in for each one, this does not affect the functionality of the site once you are logged in however.
You may have also noticed that we have long since passed 160,000 page views, which is utterly amazing in under five months from launch, the support and encouragement for UKW has been great, thanks to all. Especially to Dave Conway who has been a fantastic help over the past few months and shared in a lot of the day to day running of the site. There are others that have worked with and on UKW over the past few months on many endevours, thanks to the unsung heroes of the trade.
We are also looking at some form of support for the BBC Children In Need Appeal this year, please help! We need ideas and comments in the trade forums, let’s show that we care about the kids. Thanks in advance for the support in this endevour as well.
UKW has been and, always will be, a free resource for all in the industry that want to use it so let’s see if we can squeeze a little cash out of those that we work for for the Children In Need Appeal and maybe raise a little ourselves and let’s do something positive and noble for others.
