Hi – I have a zanussi zcf37c small chest freezer – had it for five years. There appears to be water leaking out of the bottom of it. I noticed yesterday a pool of water gathering at the sides and there was much more water directly underneath it (plus dirt/mould). I cleared that up and then left the freezer on again over night to check whether it was the freezer or another source. Today feeling the bottom of the freezer it is definietly wet again.

Is this something that can be fixed? would it be expensive? any advice for reliable machine if I have to replace it?

    thanks

    Hi skoop,

It wouldn’t happen to be in a garage would it? 😉

It’s almost certainly an insulation failure which cannot really be repaired or at least, you’d struggle to find someone that would even attempt such a repair as it’s a right pain to do, very time consuming and no guarantee of success.

Usually this will happen where the unit is kept outside the recommended temperature range for the machine, known as the climate class.

Hi, thanks for that. I have always kept in the kitchen, just not a very good machine I guess.

I shall start searching the internet for a new machine. 🙁
