Hi this is my first post. Looking for a bit of advice. I own an Indesit WE16 which has broken down and was tryng to find out if it was ecocnomical to repair or buy a new washer. The washer originally displayed an error code F12 and didn’t complete this cycle. Since this point tried usual reset / switching power off and on etc to no avail. The next day switched machine on and it managed to start a new cycle but stopped after 20 minutes of a 1 hour 26 minutes cycle. The situation now is the programmer can be set to any option but does not show door locked symbol and will not start although the timer will continue to decrease. There is about 2 inches of water still lying in the drum from previous cycle. Thanks.

F12 is supposed to indicate a communications error, that is to say the two PCB’s are not on speaking terms, could just be bad connections or fault on main PCB. The quality and reliabilty of the electronics and the connections on these machines have a rather poor reputation I’m afraid.

No joy with fix so for quickness have decided to buy new machine as realised the indesit was 6 years old. Any recommendations for a machine under £300 it doesn’t have to look good as it will be hidden behind cupboard door. Thanks…
