    hi all,
    i take it that the Schreiber apm6855 is the same as th whirlpool apm6855 i am after the thermostate but qualtex dont match to Schreiber products.
    any help recieved with gratitude.

    No made by Antonio Merloni two versions looks like both with electronic control. Need serial number please

    hi mate,
    not going there till friday, just thought would be nice to get part early.
    i will let you know the serial number as soon as i have never seen this model before.

    the model number is apm6855
    serial 20044418901-038103003-03 ,01 if that makes any sence i dont think it the main board more likley de-frost heater as displaying correct temp but has ice blockage in freezer ie freezer cold but fridge warm?

    Been to one today fridge warm freezer ok. Ducts look clear. Evaporator Fan has no reading with meter (brushless) and feels like an askoll impellor. How can this be? It worked when i refitted it 😕 Even tested meter on my skin.

    has had alot of problems with reed switch in freezer not allowing fan to run.

    Did hear hum as if fan stopped when arrived. Door close and open ok when leaving job.

    check rear circuit board if its an older version.

    I went out out to one of these yesterday where the evaporator was solid with ice. Measured the resistances of the circuits from the front board and they appeared ok but does anybody have a schematic diagram so I can know definitely what I was measuring? Didn’t look at the back to see if there was a rear pcb on this machine. What does it do? MFI disc states that appliances built before 12/12/04 had a rear pcb; this one was fitted Jan o5 so it probably does.

    Connector CN3 [brown & white] was def. the freezer door switch which appeared to be working ok.

    I think CN5 brown to blue at 300ohms was the de-frost heater circuit but would like confirmation if possible.

    Anybody know what CN1 at 13000ohms is?

    Sounds like rear pcb blown out from condensation from the rear vent.

    Change pcb and defrost sensor.

    Never had element fail but had once a sensor fail causing heaters to stay on which eventually took thermal fuse and warped fan motor.

    Thanks expertcat, I’ve been back and this one doesn’t have a rear pcb. I’ll send the front control and display boards to QER and see what happens.

    the pcb will be behind the condensor behind a cover.

    If it has not got one then its got to be a apm6855-1 from the dates given by you these didnt come about until 2006.

    AH; behind the condenser. I think I’d better have yet another look, although I thought I’d looked down there. Will report back in due course.

    Yes, there is a second pcb behind the condenser but it’s only a terminal block, not a control device. I’ve had the main pcb tested as far as poss by qer but it came back nff. I’ve re-fitted it and the evaporator is no longer icing up but the gully is.

    I’ve put another post on asking if anyone knows how to switch this into test mode and then to de-frost .

    Hello,

    I am seeing a lot of these, there is a test procedure that can force a defrost. Does anyone know the exact buttons to press?

    I have played around with super freeze and temp to get forced defrost but cannot always seem to take the appliance out of test mode.
