    Hi
Just wandering if anyone can help me out.

    I have a Hotpoint WMA60 washing machine

My problem is the machines digital display is showing that the door is always unlocked, even after i have closed the door to start a wash, because of this the machine wont start as the door wont lock.
I have changed the DOOR INTERLOCK SWITCH (DOR292) and it is still giving me the same problem.

Is there anything i have missed or anything else that can be causing this problem ?

    Thanks

Assuming that the original door lock did actually fail, it is entirely possible that it has damaged the PCB in the facia panel.

Power off if you plan to investigate.

Heres what i have found out uptill now, at the back of the door interlock switch is a black plastic peice that is connected to the switch, if i push it the machine will start, but when i let go the door alarm will sound and the machine stops. What is causing this plastic peice to stop the machine from working ?

Ah – you need a door catch. The catch spring isn’t pushing the latch plate on the door lock over far enough.

Door catch assembly is 1604425 (assuming that it’s white?) – spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.
