My Hotpoint WD860 Washer Dryer has recently started making a high pitch whining noise when spinning – mainly when either speeding up or slowing down. It’s’ not a constant thing, just for a couple of minutes each cycle.

Is this something I should worry about or just one of those things?

It has had a number of things wrong with it so I am quite wary of new problems.

It’s under extended warranty so no problems getting it sorted if there is a problem.

    Thanksk in advance.

If it’s “Squeeeee” noise you may have a bearing problem in the motor. If it’s more of a “Hisssssssssss”, it’ll be from the carbon brushes wearing down.

Definately a “Squeeeee” noise. It sounds like something which should be oiled to spin has run out of oil.

I guess this is something the warranty will cover?

may just be a dry seal, try putting through a rinse programme with a big dose of conditioner only
