Hey,
Digital timer stuck on 199min. in the auto mod and also at 65 degrees.
already cleared the water matrix, the drain and the fill seems OK, and also checked the electronic circuit which is also fine.
Also checked the resistance of the heater – fine as well.
The fast prog. is working fine.
any ideas ?

Are you sure? Usually what happens on these is that the heater relay overheats and corrupts the microprocessor. The countdown timer not going down is a sure enough sign that that is what has happened. 😉

The electronic board was at the repair lab and they claim it’s fine – not sure about that. :rolls:
Martin – You think i should replace the microprocessor or the heater relay or both?

Well you’re a brave man to even try I guess? But before you do, let me ask you this: Does the machine start to wash as if normal and that the countdown doesn’t proceed?

1) Closely inspect the solder side of the board in the vacinity of that heater relay. From memory it has 5 fixings, only 4 of which are used and the 5th one will show (slight?) signs of overheating (i.e the board slightly darkened around that pin?)
2) Check for 240v at the heater terminals (but usually only after the machine has been running for 20 mins or more)
* I being suitably qualified to repair said appliances and able to carry out stringent safety procedures in so doing. Live testing is dangerous and should only be carried out by someone suitably qualified and with the correct test equipment. 😉

If you start the DW and it starts at 199mins , how long do you leave it before you switch it off ?
I ask only because this could be the scenario :-
Low water levels would mean no heating so appliance goes to 199mins and never moves on because its not heating – HOWEVER – The next cycle may start on the same time as the previous cycle took , as they adjust themselves automatically . You may have cleared the fault by cleaning the water matrix but the machine will need to run to the heat cycle before it re-adjusts .
It may be worth sticking it on the Auto-cycle and letting it run through for 25-30mins and see what happens to the timer…..and to see if its heating

Not had any relay pin problems with that module TBH.
As Nomadpaul suggests but wouldn’t module timeout with no heat regardless and give a “2” error code 😕 , also maybe faulty dirty optical sensors 😕 what you say nomadpaul ?Greg
I’ve not had any faults with a dirty or faulty optical sensors myself – The only probs i’ve had with DW’s showing 199 mins have all been not-heating faults – either from low water levels or O/C heaters ( i answered another thread very recently for this exact fault and it was low water levels) – Not sure if the ‘2’ error would occur tbh – I tend to answer queries that i’ve had experience with personally , as i still see myself as a bit of a beginner .
