ParticipantHi
I am looking into replacing my (very) old Electra tumble dryer which has given sterling service. The challenge is – do I go for a condenser (neater no hassle, but perhaps more technically complicated = expensive to maintain) or vented (have to knock a hole through wall – but perhaps not so complicated technically = less expensive to maintain). I currently have a Bosch washing machine so it will probably be a Bosch.
Any observations, comments and recommendations welcomed.

Hi Don, and thanks for the link, very useful. In fact exactly what I was thinking – nice to have it confirmed. To influence the decision I have to think beyond our present house where hole through wall is not a problem – we may be challenged in that area next time (hoping that the tumble dryer lasts as long as the old one) so perhaps a condenser dryer may be the answer.
Kind regards

Hi All
But isnt the Bosch drier just a White knight with a suite on ?,Might as well save a few more pounds and by a White knight without the badge.

I got a boxed one here in the shop ready to go out on a customer delivery. It doesn`t look like a White Knight on the outside, on the inside :con:

I know the WTA4007 base vented model is made by Gorenje, as for the others I don`t know.

Hi Don, et al
Any ideas on the Bosch Condensation Drain Hose Kit WTZ 1110? Is it a good idea to save on having to empty the condensate?

To me thats seems a bit lazy & can/does lead to not cleaning filters (x2 BTW !) – But it’s up to you it’s your drier & a very good choice too !

Following on from Redflame’s comment does that mean that ventilated dryers do not have a filter? If so then I can understand the caution. But my existing tumble dryer has a filter and that gets cleaned regularly, so what is the difference?

Hi
No difference all dryers have filters. Just a cautionary note, as it could be easy to forget to clean them if the machine is on a drainaway kit. As you say you clean your`s regularly so no problem there then
