Hello all. I have a leaking Electra WD1100 washer dryer and traced the problem to a split rubber door seal. I can buy a new one cheap, but can’t for the life of me get the old one off!.
I have removed the circular jubilee clip from the outer rim, but the seal just doesn’t seem to want to come off – any tips would be appreciated.

    TIA 🙁

Clamp band around door seal at the drum side, gaiter spring around inlet duct for dryer. Lid off, power off, long screwdriver order of the day.

Sorry (I’m a bit thick) – “clamp band around door seal at drum side”, is that a direction, or are you trying to say there is a band that needs removing? Do I need to take the lid off to get at this then (can’t see any way to remove top or front of unit, only back, which is of no use.

Errrrrrrrrrr, OK. The lid is retained by two screws at the back. Undo them, lift, pull forward, lid comes off. Look down at the front of the drum – you can see the wire clamp band in the groove of the rubber at the tub front. Left and down a bit, you should see a screw-head. Loosen this to de-tension the clamp band.

Front will only come off with an anglegrinder……….. 😀
