Alarm is continual despite fridge compartment showing +5 and freezer
temp(measured with a new freezer thermo) at -18, showing anything between +9 and -15 on the display. The engineer has replaced the PCB’s and now has given up on the job saying that he thinks it is the sensor, which he says cannot be replaced, and we need a new appliance – which is only 20 months old .
I can’t believe this otherwise serviceable appliance is destined for the tip
because a sensor cannot be replaced.
After the engineer left we took the precaution of defrosting for 48 hours which seemed to work for four days, then the fault returned.
If it is true that the f/freezer is unrepairable do I have a case that it should
be replaced despite being out of guarentee ?
