A liberal dose of high speed or silicone grease would have been best applied on re-assembly. 🙁

I have similar a problem. I replaced the bearings, spider and seal in my 20yr old hotpoint 9520. It has since developed a squeak rather like a wet finger around rim of a glass sound. It disapears if drum is rotated 30mins after a wash, when the bearing sound quite smooth/quiet. When I replaced the bearings the seal had some grease or lubricant on it, which I assumed was all that was needed. What is causing the squeak. To me It sounds like something is expanding when hot or warm? Perhaps the shoulder of the spider against the face of the seal. If it is this it would presumably get better.

On a separate issue we recently purchased a new bosch wae24162. I’m not happy with the frugal ammount of water is uses. The washing always smells of powder even after using ‘extra aqua’ and even extra rinses. How difficult would it be to modify this machine to give a better rinse. What controls the water level. not pressure valves like the old hotpoint I assume all determined by the micro-proccessor? How does one obtain a circuit diagram. PS I am competent to work on electrical/electronic devices.
