ParticipantTo the techy’s who answer these posts I give a standing ovation – the help you give so readily is appreciated and I hope everyone realises that you don’t have too but still do ! Cheers and thanks !!!
But anyway, diagnostic code 00100100 on the smartdrive 051… I don’t know exactly what the washer was doing but one cycle took nearly 1 hour and when I realised it had hung up somewhere I had to manually progress it through the spin cycles. Now the LEDs flash 00000111 with the power off and I get diagnostics 00100100. I couldn’t find anything definitive on the forum about the diag. code, only an indication it could be a water solenoid, but after checking these, they seem to be working fine.
Any suggestions ?July 27, 2007 at 8:20 pm #222712Penguin45

PCB has had to top up the wash water more than 4 times. It’s probably syphoning (end of drain hose too far down the stand pipe). Possible that you have an air leak in the water level control system – check the air hose to the level switch for chaffing or pinholes. Continuous refilling would, of course, eventually lead to a flood. You could actually have a leak but your feet’ll be getting wet. 😀
Theoretically possible for the PCB to be faulty.

Thanks for the reply Penguin, I had a look today and the air hose to the level switch is all good and there were no leaks that I could find. The water level control sensor also seems to be working but after blowing and holding pressure til the water cut off, the drain pump kicked in shortly afterward which made no sense to me (wash cycle, not rinse). Is there also a sensor to stop potential overfilling (flood sensor?) that could cause something like this? After all the mucking about, the LEDs still flash 00000111 with power off… what is the significance of that ?
Cheers…

Further investigation has proved to be inconclusive, machine will fill, wash and drain as per usual but the lid lockout switch only seems to work for the first 10 seconds of operation (i.e hold in, machine starts, agitator spins etc:, let out within ten seconds of pushing in, everything stops as it should… but if you hold in for more than 10 seconds and release everything keeps working ?). Also noticed that on end of a complete wash cycle the machine immediately began a new cycle by itself.
Very confusing…July 28, 2007 at 8:59 am #222715Windza
ParticipantSOLVED !!??!!
I probably shouldn’t post until I have mucking around with the machine but I think everything is sorted now and I’m doing the confirmation cycle as I write !! The problems were due to a combination of things. The continual cycling was due to the recycle function being activated (somehow my wife managed to activate this – we don’t have a manual either !) and the 00100100 code was due to siphoning which has probably been happening for weeks but I only found this out due to the recycling issue. Will post again if there are any further issues 🙂
