Our washing machine has developed a fault and I am hoping one of you clever chaps can point me in the right direction.
The washing cycle starts, water enters the drum, then it justs sits there.
    The drain cycle works fine.
The spin cycle starts the drain cycle then just sits without spinning.
so I am guessing it is a motor fault as the drum does not turn?
I have checked that the belt is still in one piece, so could be the brushes?
    are these easy to remove?
    Thanks

    Yes!

Not too tricky, the motor needs removing and brushes are available here 😀

It’s not too costly either to get one of our approved repairers to do the job for you, click the link below for one in your area. 😉

removed one of the brushes and it is worn down to a short stump!
why does the motor need to be removed?
    Thanks for the quick answer.

    Hi
Removing with motor in situ may be ok, but let me know how you get on fitting the new ones without removing motor. 😀
Im not saying its impossible but for the sake of 2 bolts to remove, the time saved and your sanity; its worth it 😉

The brushes are on order and hopefully they will arrive soon as the washing mountain is growing at a phenomenal rate.
point taken on the motor removal, it was worth asking the question as the brush removal was very simple and now i am better prepared for the rebuild.
    Thanks again

Putting the new ones in isn’t quite as simple as removing the old ones. Virtually impossible with the motor in place. 🙁 Having said that, recently someone did just that (heaven knows why or how?). He must have had the patience of a saint or a member of the dangerous sports club, not sure which? 😆
