I have changed the external water filter as the filter light had changed to red on the display panel. Having changed the filter and and checked that it’s all hooked up properly, the filter light is still red on the display panel. Should this have changed back to green automatically as I’ve fitted a brand new filter?

I have just done this as well – press and hold the “ice type” and “child lock” buttons together for 3 seconds and the red filter light will go off

Same here. But that is just so strange a method. I would have expected a sensor or something to decide when it’s time to change the filter. But a reset like this just brings a (time) counter into mind. Would be interesting to know how this stuff works.

Thanks for that guys, worked like a dream. Can’t believe it’s not sensor based though. Could have pressed those buttons without investing in a new filter!! Any idea how long the filters would last if they were sensor based?

    who could say

my mates had his filter in his for 2 years now. i always say to customers you can tell by the taste of the water as to whether it wants replacing or not, or if the flow stops, its all down to individual requirements, as they say!
