    Dear All,

Is the use of trap connectors for washing machines considered to be harmful to their long term survivial

I mean this type of connector rather than the use a a standpipe arrangement

    Re: Drain Connection

Nothing wrong with that one at all, however make sure you cut off the blanked off end before you attach the outlet pipe, you wouldn’t believe how many times we get called out for that fault.

Also make sure the outlet hose is above the lowest level of the sink at some point if at all possible by making sure there is an inverted ‘U’ in the hose or feed it through above the new drain connection. This will prevent dirty water from the sink draining into the hose and in some cases into the machine itself.

    Jim.
