Hi everyone, just found the forum as I have a problem with my cooker (SMEG uk60mfx1).

The problem started with the heat cutting out when the cooker got to a certain temperature.

Now the light and fan on the cooker come on OK, but no heat is generated. The electrics appear to be OK. The ignition for the gas hob also works fine.

    Any suggestions ??

    Cheers for any help received….

Probably just the fan element that’s gone by the sounds of it, an email to Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will gt you a price and availability on one.

Is it particularly tricky to replace ? I’m not too cack-handed….

No, that one’s fairly straightforward from memory, just remove the rear liner in the oven cavity and you should get access to it okay.

Remember to pull the power off it though. 😉

It’s a doddle to cx, I did mine (and I’m a gurrrrl) but the replacement doesn’t seem quite as capable than the old one – oven takes a tad longer to warm up.

    Still a FABULOUS oven though.
