i have an s20erbb2v-a/g which has developed a fault 2 days after the warranty expired, we noticed the deviding section where the 2 doors meet has been getting very hot, so hot infact that my youngest child burnt her self!. i removed the front panel and the rear panel and cleaned it out and found the cooling motor will only run if you give it a helping hand. im a qualified electrician and know on motors that do this 9 times out of 10 its the capacitor, but im not a white goods engineer and wondered if there is a capacitor for this. im also shocked a new motor is £70. i could buy a 3 phase motor cheaper
    cheers

The cooling fan motors are usually synchronous motors (no capacitors) and it’s not unknown to get a bearing failure in one especially when it’s been running hot for ages.

Have you had a look at it’s rating?…you can get universal fan motors which will do the job quite happily and probably a whole lot cheaper than the manufacturers gen part.

If you send all the details to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk i’m sure something would be sourced for you 😉
