ParticipantHello there, just discovered this site. We inherited the above Diplomat dishwasher in our house about a year ago. There are no instructions with it at all. For the last few months, it seems to work as normal, i.e, it heats up and cleans the dishes, but it doesn’t turn off. It will stay on for hours until turned off manually. Any ideas as to what the problem might be?. Thanks very much

This is a SMEG built machine. If you are certain that there is plenty of heat, this will almost certainly be a problem with the computer board. Due to the complex nature of this appliance, I would seriously suggest getting professional help.
It’s a good quality machine, so well worth repairing.
Click the link below for a UKW engineer in your area; power off if you wish to investigate further yourself.

Thanks for the advice. Before calling someone out, I would like to have a go myself. I was wondering if anyone has a list of fault codes etc for that machine. As I say, there were no instructions at all with it, so hopefully it might be something simple, like a reset?. Don’t know how to do this, so again any advice would very welcome. The machine seems to wash OK, and I think it’s heating up as normal, it just doesn’t finish any cycle. Thanks.

The machine generates fault codes by flashing different combinations of the 5 LEDs. Yours doesn’t………. Which is why the PCB may be playing up – not logical. There is a re-set procedure (Use SEARCH ‘smeg AND reset’ usually finds it), but is unlikely to be effective in this case.
The manual tells you which button to press and where to put the ingredients, but that’s about it.
Power off if you are going to go in.

Thanks again. I have noticed that when you turn it on and close the door, there are two beeps, and these seem to happen again at what should be the end of the cycle, Does this mean anything in particular? Cheers

That’s it’s normal operation 😉
