ModeratorWhilst installing ISE5 number 96 this afternoon it got me thinking. The first one I installed was over 12 months ago, March 2006 to be precise.
I would be very interested to see ( if we have one that is ) a breakdown of ISE faults over the past 12 months. Excluding user misuse, OOB, pump blockages etc.
Apparently Pauls bearing change is a one off, up to now. 🙂 So I am talking component failure.
I did have a couple of modules with the fill valve permanently energised in the first few months but none since. More recently I have had a couple of valves jammed open on installation.
I may have to change a module tomorrow, message from Dave Quinn informs me that customer says spin control is stuck at 1200 😕 sounds odd but I will see.
Other than that my box of van stock has been untouched. 8)

TBH the number of component failures has been really low. IIRC we worked it out a month ago and it was running at about 6{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} or something of that order. I can’t recall if that was including or excluding the OOB’s etc. though.
However, regardless, it si very low and the machines have proven to be able to take some hammer as well. I know of at least two that are used daily for >3 washes per day and they haven’t faltered or even shown any real sign of wear.
Looks like we did not a bad job of specing the machine after all. 😉

We’ve had a fair few of them 😕

That was P45’s advice as well, however apart from looking very unprofessional, no matter how much I whacked the last one it had no effect. Not seen any for a while now though. 8)

No – you just pinch the hose between the valve and the soap drawer hard and it stops. No bashing involved…. I have taken to removing the lid as I install it (“Just checking, Madam”), ready for the pinch. I’ve only had one which hasn’t corrected itself.
