    Ok now that I have a working washing machine in the form of a different BOSCH, I need some assistance on this one please.

    Now previously you helped me greatly with our Bosch WFF2001 and advised me this was the better of the 3 machines we had. So I am determined to get this one well again.

    it is the sump pump again I think. It keeps stopping with the 2 lights blinking indication a draining problem.

    We drain the washer ( oh thrills) and open the sump and find nothing at all. Load the washer and then do the wash and it happens again. Drain the washer, nothing in the sump, redo the load again.. and this time it works …

    We have check the drain pipe and that seems fine.

    The sump blades do spin doing the 1/4 turn and then stopping they way it should.

    So previously someone mentioned that the sump is a weakness with this model and may need to be replaced. Just want to verify that as fact.

    Also is there anything else it could be ?

    Which two are flashing, Sarah? Time out drain is a single lamp flashing…….

    Hi,

    Spinning and Rinsing flash which is blocked outlet hose, drain pipe or pump.

    Spin flashing is no drain in time allowed.
    Spin and Rinse flashing is to do with the heater circuits working when they shouldn’t. Stuck relay on PCB or earth fault on the element are possible.

    What info have you got re the codes?

    Fair enough…… I had been going through some other tech info which is supposed to pertain to this machine.

    If we assume a pump problem – you said the the pump “pinged” round each quarter, which is good. You need to check that there is no lateral movement on the impellor – if it wiggles from sided to side or up and down, the pump is worn and will become erratic in operation.

    As to the sump, the hose contains a plastic ball up at the top. I have never known one to stick, but I have had a few over the years with a sock or similar jammed around them. As the hose is attached at the bottom front of the drum, removing the front panel is the easiest way to access it.

    I had forgotten about the lateral movement.. I think it did have lateral months ago but decided to give it another go. Now I have had to do this so many times I am just fed up with it and had hubby move it out and put the other one in.

    I will go check the lateral movement tomorrow to make sure that it is indeed there.

    The ball was checked and it was fine and nothing in there…
