ParticipantHi all, first post so please be gentle!! Seems I MAY have one of the old ‘IWMS’ problems?? Intermittently filling? Power to one side of solenoid (Grey) nowt to t’other side (Black). Now this is further complicated by the fact I am in France!! But pretty competent in repairs, just absolutely NO idea how to do it? Seemingly impossible to get into the casing? But is this beyond the scope of an Ex. Industrial dishwasher repair person? Would I be better getting anew machine? She is only actually seven months old! Bought in 2005 but been in store since then and been running now since February this year. But then infrequently.
Ah Well here is hoping eh?Chris 😕

IWMS accessed from the left side of the machine. First undo the 2 screws at the back of the lid and remove. Now remove the door lower panel – not the fascia. Next remove the plinth (2 screws). There is a metal panel behind the plinth – take out the 2 screws and prise it up and out of its location. Then undo the 3 screws at the back of the left side panel; one on the top at the front. The side panel can now be removed by pulling the panel out from the back and pulling it forward out of the locating slot.
To remove the IWMS – from the plinth access – unclip and remove the plastic ‘hockey stick’ pipe. Be ready for some water leakage. Then pull off the small hose above the hockey stick pipe. Next remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the IWMS; prise and release it from the snap clips at the top and gently pull it away from the water softener. Some more water will be released. Mark the wiring and disconnect the valves. Unclip blue fill feed pipe.
Clean out or replace the IWMS as necessary – replacement is best as it is the long term solution. 😉 Shop@ for the correct part.
And to quote Haynes’ manuals – “Reassembly is a reversal of removal” (translated’ means “I’m not writing all that again!!”).Power off, plug out before starting work. Stay alive! :plug:
Hope that helps!

Hi. Trying to clean out the IWMS on a Zanussi DA6141. There’s a vent between the main cavity and the IWMS with a grill over it – how do I remove the grill so I can remove the IWMS?
Will get a new unit from shop@ but hopefully this will get it working in the meantime. Unit is currently only doing 3-4 washes at a time before having to remove the inlet pipe (seems to reset a pressure switch).
Thanks,
John. -
