THESE SEEM TO BE OF PARTICULARY POOR QUALITY AND QUESTIONABLE DURABILLITY, WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE AROUND 8 OF THESE UNITS WELL WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR GUARANTEE PERIOD. THREE OF THE BEARING FAILURES OCCURED IN LESS THAN THREE MONTHS FROM PURCHASE, THESE MACHINES ARE MORE OR LESS UNREPAIRABLE . A COMPONNENT FAILURE WITHIN THE TUB / DRUM ASSEMBLEY REQUIRES THE COMPLETE UNIT TO BE DISCARDED (WITH NO USABLE PARTS WHICH CAN BE SALVAGED) AND A NEW ONE PURCHASED . ANY FAULT IN THE TUB / DRUM OUT OF GUARANTEE WILL RENDER THE MACHINE SCRAP AS REPLACEMENT JUST ISN’T VIABLE . AMAZING TO SEE HOW FAR THE QUALITY OF THESE MACHINES , AND AEG IN PARTICULAR HAS DECLINED . WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT JUST 5 OR 6 YEARS AGO THAT AN AEG WASHING MACHINE WOULD HAVE A POSSIBLE LIFE SPAN OF JUST OVER A YEAR. REALLY DEPRESSED , JOHN , KILMARNOCK.

Mistakenly posted as a news submission this evening but most of the trade know about it and Electrolux Group are not alone in this, machines from Siltal, Hotpoint, Indesit, Aristion and more are all doing this now.

Used to work for them, very disapointing!
What if something gets stuck in drum such as babies clothes.

Impossible if users apply a degree of common sense and (for example) put small items like socks, hankies, pop socks, bibs and such like in purpose made laundry bags, so readily available, no excuse really.
