I am having some issues with a GW708U and thanks to the forum have isolated this down to Fault code 131 [Rotor Position Sensor]. After a leaking seal some weeks earlier.

I emailed Fisher & Paykel NZ with the results of the diagnostic I ran, they also confirmed a likely problem with the RPS. I sent back an email to Fisher & Paykel regarding obaining a list of the fault codes and there meanings for this model. My email question was referred to Fisher & Paykel AustraliaL The reply was a bit surprising…

    Reply from F&P Australia:
“I am sorry to hear that you are currently experiencing problems with your Fisher & Paykel appliance and that it now requires service.

Due to the risk of injury or even death, Fisher & Paykel strongly recommend that servicing electrical appliances be carried out only by suitably qualified persons.

By supplying technical diagrams or service manuals to unauthorised repairers, Fisher & Paykel may be held liable in the event that an accident was to occur as the result of that repair. It is therefore not possible to supply you with the information you have requested.

We regret that we have been unable to assist you on this occasion and we are in no way questioning your ability to undertake such a repair, however, our policy must apply to all, with no exceptions.

Should you require any assistance to arrange a service booking by an authorised repairer please do not hesitate to contact the Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 590. For your convenience we are open 24 hours, seven days a week”

I have sent a reply regarding machines exported to the USA have the fault code sheet, so I am waiting for a reply.

In the interim if anyone has the list for the GW708U can you post it on the forum.

    Many Thanks

It has been a number of days since I posted my enquiry to Fisher & Paykel Australia and Fisher & Paykel NZ regarding the inclusion of the error fault sheet with those exported machines. There has been a deathly silence from both of their customer care centres.
