    Hi,

    My tumble dryer has decided to stop turning just a few days after it fell out of warranty. I have opened up the back and pressed the start button – the motor impeller turns slightly one way and then slightly the other way and then nothing. You can hear the normal clicks that the dryer makes but no motor turning.

    When i removed the motor cover there appears to be some staining on the casing so it lloks like the motor has had it – could it be anything else or should I get a new motor. Has anyone got a workshop manual.

    These machines have a capacitor start which is 10uf and is the normal fault for motor not running, depending how mechanical you are it would be safer getting an engineer out.
