❓ Hi. I have a Hotpoint BF162 integrated dishwasher. It has been ok ish appart from we did have a pcb changed during the 1st year. Now both the main wash lights (1st and 2nd) are flashing and there is water in the machine. The only way to get the machine to actually do something is to manually drain the sump with a cup (after removing the filter). It will reset and start a cycle but again stops with water in the macine and the same lights flashing.

The drain pump does not seem to be cutting in at the start of the cycle. I presume it’s an pump problem, however can anybody suggest anything that might help me before I start trying to remove the machine!
I presume I have to remove the machine as a next step?
Where is the drain pump located, could the drain itself be blocked? Sorry just thinking out loud, any help would be much appreciated.

Pump blockages are very common on the Indesit machines. The pump can be accessed from underneath without to much difficulty once you have removed the base. Usually bits of bone, chipped crockery, glass, sweetcorn, plastic in the pump.

Be sure to remove the plug and have a few towels handy if you intend to have a go.

😀 Thanks, Had machine in bits this afternoon and found a lot of debris in the pump, including little coloured beads!? Managed to clean everything out, and put it all back and now it works fine.
    Thanks for the advice.

    Beads. 😯 😕

You should remember one thing that all engineers tell their customers, “this is a dishwasher, not a waste disposal unit” 😉

Glad to hear you managed to sort it.
