    Fault code E20 comes up on the drying cycle. Upon inspection I found that it doesn`t come up on an 11min cycle, only on 25min and over cycles. The dryer fan runs for approx a min and then E20 comes up in the display and the m/c stops. I`ve checked for the usual blockages and also the elements, but everything is O.K. Any ideas anyone

    E20 on this machine usually means either drain pump or the condenser unit is blocked with fluff? I would also check the NTC at the bottom of the condenser unit too? 😉

    I`ve checked both the pump & the condenser – both are O.K. I`ll order up an NTC and let you know what happens – Ian

    Repaired it this morning. The top NTC was faulty. The thing is can anyone tell me why a faulty NTC on the dryer gives an E20 ( pump fault ) error code. Cheers – Ian

    E20 is not the fault code. It tells you that there is a fault in the E20 group of codes – ie E21, 23 or 24. You would need to access the diagnostics to find out which one would have been applicable.

    I went into diagnostics which gave me an E21 code which is a pump fault code, so why does a faulty NTC bring up this code.

    technical bumf says for E21 could be an element leaking to earth!

    This is, of course, the great weakness of “Fault Codes”……. If you don’t know what the code means, get the meter out and find out what doesn’t work. And, you fixed it.

    Martin wrote a rather good post on this a little while back.
