Moving to a new flat next month where the kitchen/dining room/lounge is essentially the same room. So would like a washing machine which is quiet if possible but also reliability is very important. First time I’ve bought one so complete novice. Thought a washer/dryer would be better as not much space for seperate washer/dryer – could maybe manage without dryer as we have a balcony where we could dry clothes – I heard it’s sometimes better to buy seperate washer/dryers. Looking to spend under £500. Any specific models would be very helpful.

Hi
If you can squeeze a compact dryer in which are only 20″ square that would be a far better option than a combined machine. As far as budget is concerned you would do no worse than one of the Bosch classixx machines such as the WAE28162 and say something like a Creda T313VW tumble dryer.

Thanks for the advice, will look at them two. Just need to measure up in my new apartment and see if I can fit in a seperate washer and dryer. This may be a stupid question but does a dryer need seperate plumbing as well?

Nope all it needs is a 13 Amp socket and a door or window nearby to let the steam escape 😉
