ParticipantRecent Bosch dryers I’ve come across are popping elements like there’s no tomorrow? They are all WTA’s made in Slovenia 😕
Now I think I read somewhere on here that Bosch are shipping out rebadged Gorenge dryers?….Well anyway, the fact is that these elements are rubbish and more to the point VERY EXPENSIVE!
Question therefore is, can a cheaper alternative be sought, as the Bosch elements are around £65 retail from Bosch and silly money to buy from Connect! 👿
Bosch Part number by the way is 492159 (typically fits a WTA4107GB/01)

The WTA4007 from the current range is indeed made in Slovenia. When I pressed our rep for any further information on the others in the range all he would say was ” We have factories all over Europe they could be made anywhere.” :hmm:

A word of warning if you are buying these heaters into stock. In the last six months I have obtained 5 of these heaters from 3 different suppliers, of which 4 were low on insulation resistance when received (2, 2, 5, and 100 megaohm). All 4 dropped substantially when heated up, at least two of them enough to trip out the electrics.

Thanks, Iadom, reassuring that others have found the same. Note that Bosch have changed the part number to 498557, priced lower at £53.50+VAT, no change to the element though, just the packaging! Identical batch numbers on the element.
