ParticipantHi
For the last few weeks the 1/2 symbol has been lit up on the LCD display on my dishwasher (I assume that this is a symbol for a quick wash of half the load).
This can not be cleared by pressing the relevant button on the control panel.
Apart from that the machine seems to be working fine. Any ideas of what has gone wrong and if this can be DIY fixed ?
Many Thanks
Regards,
Alex

Probably a little software glitch…do a search on here for ‘smeg’ and ‘reset’. Loads of information about button pressing and it might sort it for you. If not then two choices…live with it or replace the pcb 😕

Thanks Clive
I found the reset sequence, however it still hasn’t fixed the problem.
I am looking for some advice on how to access the PCB of control panel of my dishwasher.
As it is an integrated appliance, can someone please advise me on how to remove the fitted door as well.
I noticed that there are some plastic bits on the side of the d/w door that seem to be unlocking the fitted door. However, when I prop them open they snap back into place by a spring.
Many ThanksRegards,

AlexYes infuriating aren’t they? 😕
I have a special tool from smeg to operate them…basically just like a little plastic key to insert and grip them…without that you need to be careful not to break them.As far as detailed instructions on disassembly we can’t provide that (sticky rules at the top of forums) just in case you hurt yourself…or somebody else reading this does. Suffice to say it’s not difficult, a bit like a big meccano set 😉
Just take your time and be careful of some very sharp edges on the stainless steel…and plug out at all times of course :zap:

I managed to take off the door using some thick bolts to prop the plastic bits open.
Now on to the fun bit 🙂 (Probably going to be an evening project)
Thanks for your help

Hi All
I hope that my question is not against the rules of the forum.
Further to my last post, I have now managed to take the kitchen door off the unit.
Removed all screws that were holding the control panel from inside the door of the dishwasher. The panel is now loose at both sides. However, there seems to be something holding it right in the centre.
Can someone give me a hint please on how to release it?
Thanks
Kind Regards,
Alex
