drum does not rotate

    I have a Candy washing machine. The name on front is Eclypsa, model no CE94. The drum does not rotate at all, Could anybody help please!!

    unplug!!! 1) take top off to see if belt is on the pully wheel…if off take back panel off and replace.
    2) if belt is on check plug into the motor..if ok it may be the motor brushes…..how long have you had the w/m? how often do you use it? because the longer and and the more often you use it the brushes wear down and then do not make contact with the motor armature. as a check select any wash program and see if tub turns without a load in..

    The only way to find out is to look – or pay for the priviledge. Have a read of this for a starter:

    The motor is retained by two screws on the rear of the tub, undo them and the motor can be removed for inspection. There is also an electronic board in the bottom rear corner which is prone to dry joints around the relays.

    Power off, of course.

    I have replaced the carbon brushes and now the machine works fine.
