    hi guys
    i have a problem with my fridge icing up and catching the cooling fan.
    defrosted it about five weeks ago and problem has re-a cured, i hope some one can help with this.

    Hi,

    If you read back through the forums there’s slews of info on these things. 😉

    The short of it is that the only way to cure the problem is to replace the evaporator cover and possibly the thermistors as well. Defrosting it is merely a temporary cure.

    The parts required are all are all in this section of the store

    you have a defrost problem.most likely defrost heater fault but needs to checked out before hand.

    i would say likely to be defrost sensor and change thermal fuse, in most repairs i do if defrost heater faulty its the opposite you get no ice on evap as the pcb is usually waiting for heater to come on and because not working will sit in and wait for temp to raise until time to switch back on this can take hours so acts as if heater is working and does defrost eventually

    thanks for the info guys
    have defrosted again today now temp readout is showing 17 and fan not coming on at all.
    which parts do i need to order as i now have no fridge!!

    have you pushed the light switch button with the door open to see if fan comes on,push light switch wait for twenty seconds and fan should come on
    this will see if fan is working

    hi
    if fan not coming on then i would say you better off calling a engineer as it seems you have a number of faults. all relating to icing up
    tell me your postcode and i might be able to get one of my engineers out to have a look
