ParticipantHi all.
My wifes Servis easi logic 1600-rpm wont spin dry at any of its speed settings.
The drum rotates slowly, which I understand is the machine settling the wash load, but it will do this forever more & wont move on to spinning.
I’ve tried it with no clothes in, fully loaded & a small load but still only get the drum slowly turning.
It appears to empty water out & the machine works fine in all other ways. The machine is just over a year old & just out of warranty, typical.
Thanks for any help Dave G.August 28, 2007 at 2:14 pm #225878Washman

i have found this to be a dodgy belt or more often the module sometimes they can be repaired new modules are expensive but repairs are normally possible i think there is a someone on here called emw that does module repairs

Hi.
The model number is “m6516w”
Looking around this forum & others i’ve found that the problem can be caused by the machine thinking that there is still water in the drum even when it’s empty. Could this be my problem
I’m hoping it’s nothing to do with the electronics which I assume is what the module is, DDSDDS.

ParticipantRe: No spin
is there any water left in the drum at the end of the cycle?
and does it fill at the begining of the cycle
these machines are prone to problems with the module which is the electronics have dig around on here and search for servis module should give you some clues
if you suspect it is still full of water have you checked the filter it is on the bottom right as you face the machine
have a towel and a mop ready as any water left in the machine will most likely come flooding outAugust 29, 2007 at 6:06 pm #225882DaG56

The machine takes in water normally & does the wash without any problems.
It then pumps all the water out before going into its slow spin routine.
All the programmes seem to work apart from the spin cycle.
The filter is clear I checked that when this first started to happen & have just checked it again just incase.Dave G.

looks like a module fault…EMW do replacement module, fully guaranteed for 12 months,,,take module off no need to disconnect ANY wiring and examine it closely..any sign of scorched or burnt tracking confirms the fault. EMW…01159652118. keep your original module or take notes or diagram of block connections and replace one for one.

The wife is now thinking about replacing the machine because buying a new module might be throwing good money after bad.
I’ll def avoid Servis in future, for what it has been used the machine should have lasted longer then that.
Manufacturers are happy to sell you rubbish but they must realise that you will never buy anymore of their products. Plus, by telling friends & relatives that their stuff is crap, these manufacturers could be losing more then one future customer.
We had an Indiset for years which never had a fault but was replaced because it looked tatty & the spin speed was low. I wish we had kept it now. Thanks for all help Dave G.

There’s bags of info and opinion on here as far as a replacement goes, have a search and a good read 🙂
Just remember the old adage…’you get what you pay for’ 😉

Hi Dave,
I’d advise you start by reading this one
Then browse the manufacturer section as you’ll likely learn a lot. 😉

Some interesting stuff on those links. If I’d read them prior to buying the machine I wouldn’t have bought it. Infact I wouldn’t have touched any Servis machine.
Ah well, you live & learn. Dave G.September 2, 2007 at 8:59 pm #225888DaG56
ParticipantRe: No spin
Hi again.
The spin has started working again.
The wife is still using the machine (till we get another next week) & she has just been wringing the washing out by hand then hanging them out.
Tonight the machine is spinning again though it does seem to be vibrating more then it normally does.
If the fault is on the module, a burnt out or dud component, why would it suddenly start to work again?

A dry joint, or burnt connections on the module edge connectors can cause intermittent syptoms/operation. A lighter load may negate the stretched belt problem.

The recovery didn’t last long, 2 loads later & once again no spin. A couple of loads after that it started again, then again stopped spinning completlely.
I removed the module & checked it for tracking, burnt contacts & any soldered joints that didn’t look sound.
I couldn’t see anything wrong with it so put it back & decided to give up.
We’ve now bought a new machine, the scrapman can have the servis.
Anyway thanks for everybodies contribution & help, it was appreciated.
