ParticipantCheers again from sunny Sth Oz,
reposted as a new topic….
It’s been 16mths now since this fault occurred and the same thing has happened again….away for 1 weeks holiday and the drain pump has seized again only this time I’m inclined to shell out for a new machine rather than pay for replacement pump.
At this stage looking at a basic Bosch, Miele or Asko so the price range is approx $850 – 1500 so I would be grateful for any recommendations.
cheers…ValvoAugust 29, 2007 at 11:55 pm #225960Penguin45

Bosch – good
Miele – fantastic – appalling technical support to the inedependents if it does go wrong.
ASKO – now you’re talking……..

Miele by A mile Much Better finished off
Technical Support In Aust is First Class
Miele are The Most Reliable & they Are Easiest to Service
Ok Miele parts Are Expensive but they are no dearer than Bosch & Asko Parts in this part of the world .Dont forget parts may be dearer but They are Of A much better quality and generally have A longer lifespan .
Bosch are not technician friendly as far as Im Concerned. From a user point of view Miele have a much better Basket/Rack lay out
making it easier to load dishes Etc .August 30, 2007 at 7:39 am #225964Valvo

Thanks for the input….I took wifey along to have a look at the 3 different brands and luckily the main dealer in Adelaide sells & services all of them.
I had sort of decided that the Miele G1243SC was the way to go but she surprisingly found things she didn’t like in this machine.
She was concerned that moisture thru capillary action would get behind the front panel & discolour it like happened with the Bosch(this was the killer), the cutlery drawer restricted the use of long stem glasses and large dinner plates, having to sort the cutlery and lay them out individually. They had a
G1220 with a cutlery basket that would have been OK (& cheaper) but by then she had seen the Asko D3132 and was won over by the interior versatility and simple fascia….it arrives Monday.
This will be our first non Bosch appliance so fingers crossed it will work as well be just as reliable .regards….Valvo
