ParticipantHi, Can anyone give me some advice as to whether it will be worth repairing this unit. The dryer is around 3-4 yrs old and has stopped heating. I assumed it was the thermostat of which I purchased, but on further investigation and checking model numbers I could not find one anywhere! I now assume the heating element is u/s and so will have to fork out around £60-£70 for it.
I have no way of testing the element, so would have to purchase on a wim. Is it actually the heating element that is at fault or do I cut my losses and stick it on Ebay!?? model number is 91609252202 if thats any help.
Your advice will be much appreciated.

it’s well worth getting a proffesional opinion..zanussi are ok…and for £40-£60 it’s worth the risk to know exactly what’s wrong, as long as the c/d is not noisy and gives good results..find an engineer to give you a fix cost.

ParticipantYour’e right about hard to find.
According to this diagram http://www.letsfixit.co.uk/html/tumble_dryer_faq.html
it is situated to the right hand side infront of the drum. But doesn’t seem to be in that position in this unit! I have had the side off, the front vent and top, but cannot see or trace back to a thermostat?? Tracing the heater element just takes me to block connectors. Marvellous!Confused,

Put your hand in the drum and feel the front of the machine form the inside. just to left, you will feel a t/s. it has 2 small screws to take it out. if you can have a light in there and look in the drum facing up then you will see it. quite easy to fit with the power off.

Well chaps, that stint I did in the Moscow state circus came in handy!! There it was trying to hide from me all the time, behind my third eye! This is the actual part I sent back cos I couldn’t find it in the first place…Fool! Fingers crossed this is the culprit, many thanks for your help and if i’ts not, you’ll find this dryer on Ebay within a week!
Thanks again for you guys in the know!:-)

Hi guys,
Have just removed both the heater and the front stat from my TC7102W, I have a multimeter and would like help identifying which item is faulty before buying replacements for both. Can anyone give me some clues as to what pins I should test and values to expect please?

Heater should read 40-60 odd ohms.
Thermostat should read zero as it is normally closed.Penguin45.
