    Hi,

Hope someone can advise me on this problem. I have a Candy CDC266 tumble dryer that has stopped collecting the water. I have checked the water reservoir bottle for blockages and cleaned out the other filter thing (the one made up of layers of aluminium.sorry, don’t know the correct terminology).
There doesn’t appear to be any water leaking out anywhere, but the kitchen does tend to end up like a sauna.

If anyone can help I’d be very greatful. Thanks.

Firstly, the aluminium box thingy is the condenser unit. This condenses the steam from the drum and only allows the hot air to recirculate back round through the heater and into the drum again. The condensed water then runs into the reservoir.
The ‘sauna’ problem is a blockage / condenser fan – related fault. Check door filter; the passage from this to the front of the condenser; (ie: blocked with a hanky or a ‘Bounce’ sheet). To check the condenser is clear, remove it and hold it up to the light. You should be able to see clearly through every channel: if not, clean it again. The steam passes front to back and cold air is fanned from the side. Both directions have to be clear. Also check the air intake to this fan is not restricted.
If all is found to be OK, then the fault will lie with the condenser cold air fan. (blocked or broken – although a broken fan is usually very noisy!) These are a nightmare to get to – even for engineers! Complete strip down, drum out job. 🙁

Power off, plug out before any investigation. :plug: Stay alive!!

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve checked for blockages as much as is possible without stripping and can’t see anything obvious. If I take the front cover at the bottom off I can see what looks like a fan at the bottom right of the machine which is turning ok when the machine runs.

I’ve emailed repairs@ and awaiting contact now.

Thanks again for the info. 🙂
