    Hi,

How easy is it to change the bearing on the Hotpoint WM76?

I have managed to remove the spider and can see the rear bearing, how do I remove it?

    Thanks

You have to remove both bearings, the rear one first, then the larger front or inner bearing and seal. A huge lump hammer and a drift are the prescribed tools. Depending on how long you have left it you may find the inner large bearing will collapse, this will leave the hardened steel outer shell of the bearing jammed inside the alloy tube inside the drum. This will present you with real problems and may render the machine BER. 😥
The shaft and the brass collar on the drum spider should be clean and smooth.

    Jim.
