I have come across a couple of these machines with module at the front – both were pcb faults, sent them to emw. I think there are fault codes available on these machines put wouldn’t put much store by them π

The hardware key really only tells you what the flashing lights also tell you and not much else, unless you have the dedicated diagnostics software to use via the serial port on the back of the key. There are two versions of the key, the later one for EVO 2 machines and the Hotpoint Vouge 4 machines, it is not yet available to the trade as far as I am aware.

KeymasterThe latest hardware key will be available with one SIM-card and interact with one SmartPhone….
I didn’t hear till now what will do this phone? Will have diagnose software; programming eeprom software as well as earlier key? … instead of using laptop?September 5, 2007 at 11:17 pm #226539iadom

Unfortunately living in a third world country like the UK :rolls: we are not as lucky as you Adrian, if you do get the later key and the sim card access etc , please let us know, it will be very interesting to say the least.

Jim the later one can only be used with a lap top but the earlier one can still be used on any machine, but you need an adaptor that for these such as the Wia101 with the module in the console, it plugs in via an edge conector and you plug hardware key into it. jj

I have the earlier one and the adaptor as well but I cannot see them giving out much more information than the flashing lights already give you.
So the Mk1 key will still work on current production then?
Adrain ( baron ) has kindly sent me a picture of his latest hardware key, it looks to be a clear plastic one. I thought the Mk2 key was blueish in colour. π

KeymasterJim,
I ask you if you have any software for that key?… Because is giving more than F_ _ = flashing number or get into “test regime”….Just for fun you can:
– see wash statistics (error history; how many programs and which were used; which optional buttons were pushed…)
– check EPROM
– read & write EPROM
– command & test individual all peripherals (door lock, valve, pump, speed motor rotation…) and have in display feedback from them…Second Key they told that is no longer available…. but the new one will be soon (from photo)…

The software to use the key to its full potential is not available to the independent trade in the UK, only to the Indesit Company’s own engineers, franchised or authorised engineers working for Comet etc. π₯
