I’ve got a new Kenwood KDW8STA installed under the worktop.

The problem is the dishwasher is approx 50mm lower than the bottom of the worktop. The adjustment in the feet allow 15mm movement for levelling purposes.

Adding a strip of filler that matches the kitchen is one option but I’ve noticed the stainless steel door is identical in size to the kitchen doors and the plastic top section *can* be removed.

So …… can I remove the plastic base panel from the dishwasher. Raise the dishwasher on a platform and then just run my plinth underneath?

Does the plastic base just act as a cover and therefore can be removed without affecting the function of the dishwasher?

Anyway a picture paints a thousand words so here goes….

Raising the height of the machine using a plinth is the more usual approach to your problem. Preferably sawn timer made into a frame to match the base area of the appliance and stand it on top!

Removing the bottom ‘kick/inspection panel’ is not advisable but nonetheless can be an alternative way for you to then place a wooden (or mdf) kick board across the front to match your kitchen furniture?

Removing the top panel (worktop) is also an option to allow further height to be acheived without compromising the machines looks or performance. 😉

Removing the top on a Chinese made dishwasher may compromise what passes for rigidity in China. :rolls:

Bit of a palava but pleased with how it looks now (subject to the adjustments, cleaning etc)

Cheers for the feedback and here’s the latest pixs ….
